Eucla Ruins - Great Australian Bight
Eucla Ruins is one of those places that the English get the blame for but being English myself, it doesn’t bother me – I’ve heard it too many time after being in Australia for 5 months now. Rabbits (introduced to Australia by the English) have apparently eaten most of the vegetation leaving the sand dunes to swallow up the old Eucla telegraph station but this still a quality site to wander around and take some of those arty farty photos to show the parents back home. At the time when my tour group visited Eucla we were also lucky enough to see around 50 Major Mitchell cockatoo in the tree next to the ruins, so this was another Australian bird to tell my dad about (as he is a bit of a twitcher!).
